A new family-friendly program at West Virginia University is geared toward the recruitment and retention of top-notch faculty.
The Dual Career Program, announced recently by President Mike Garrison, will help spouses and partners of prospective and new faculty members in their search for employment in the Morgantown area.

The new program, which is being administered through the Division of Human Resources’ Employment Services unit, is an outgrowth of feedback received during recent campus forums where many people noted the need for additional ways to recruit and retain faculty.
For Michael and Valerie Lastinger - both foreign language professors at WVU - the new initiative signals a stronger level of commitment from the University in assisting working couples....

The program will also introduce spouses and partners to local volunteer and educational opportunities that support career and professional development, and will have an affiliated recruitment consortium to draw on that will bring together higher education institutions, employers and organizations in the area to help address the many challenges of academic recruitment and retention.
